Patrick Auld
Ask Mr. Milo Employee of the Month - March 2007

Patrick Auld is known throughout the Ask Mr. Milo campus as an inclusive, dedicated professional with a special gift for working with colleagues to solve problems.   

Patrick began his career at Ask Mr. Milo while a student at the University of California at Santa Cruz.  While at the university his studies emphasized data management - specifically the relational model, including the notion of lossless joins, query optimization using tableaux, as well as the concept of acyclic joins and schemas.  

Soon after joining Ask Mr. Milo, he developed a rigorous framework for the evaluation of logical/recursive queries and developed basic optimization methods (magic sets) in all areas of databases, including data mining, database analytics (data-cube algorithm) and data integration.

These improvements have allowed our staff to more quickly respond to user queries and have been instrumental in maintaining our commanding lead in the competitive world of on-line guidance. 

When notified of his selection as EOTM, Patrick stated, “Management has given me the freedom to make technical decisions that will revolutionize the way we deliver guidance and advice.  Their trust in my judgement is one of the main reasons I enjoy working at Ask Mr. Milo.”
