Dear Southwest Airlines Customer Relations:

Increasingly, on early morning flights from Oakland to Los Angeles, I have been awakened or prevented from dozing off by a passenger clipping their nails.  Such acts of personal grooming are both annoying and I believe represent a potential health hazard.  Southwest Airlines is unlikely to welcome a letter from a passenger noting that an errant finger or toenail has flipped up and into their juice or coffee - or landed on a passenger’s person.

Although not federally mandated, please consider requesting your attendants add to their announcement list of prohibited activities, such as use of cell phones, the clipping of finger or toenails during the flight.

This only appears to be an issue during early morning flights when the cabin is less than full.

Please let me know of your decision to augment your pre-flight instructions for your early morning flights.

Thank you.
Sincerely,

Mr. Milo
Board Chairman
