Zion announces his retirement

Zion, Sr. Canine Guard
Retires effective July 1, 2008

Zion, Ask Mr. Milo employee number eighteen, announced his retirement as Senior Canine Guard, effective July 1, 2008.

Zion worked security at the garage for over seven years and led his department through several reorganizations during the exponential growth of Ask Mr. Milo.  He is best known for insisting on the placement of 6 x 6 foot sandboxes on each garage floor to provide his crew with a convenient location where they could conduct their business.  This innovation revolutionized the guard dog work environment and rapidly became the industry standard at all high rise parking garages.  Guard Dog Monthly named him Dog of the Year in 2003 to honor his work.

The sandboxes are credited with decreasing sick time utilization and improving moral.  Previously, he and his staff were forced to run down to the ground floor of the six story garage to relieve themselves - unless a protruding tire proved irresistible.

At a retirement dinner, hosted by Mr. Milo, Zion was roasted by his fellow employees.  The good natured Zion took both the accolades and rrruff comments in stride while munching on a large knuckle bone given to him on this special occasion.

When questioned on what he considered to be the highlight of his career, he grew teary, and wistfully spoke of when the organization was smaller and he knew all the staff and could count on a treat from his friends.

Currently Zion is weighing offers to work as a consultant at Petsmart and NutroMax.  In the meantime, he plans to indulge in some of his favorite pastimes while patrolling Mr. Milo's estate - such as barking at squirrels, eating dirt and peeing on trees.

The entire staff honored Zion by giving him a lifetime subscription to Harry and David's "Bone of the Month Club."
